FASHION | DKNY Spring 2014

Photo via Facebook
I am in love with DKNY's spring 2014 campaign. Not only does it feature a few of my faves (hello A$AP and Cara Delevigne), but it's just so badass. DKNY knows how to get people talking and take social media by storm.

The campaign features rapper A$AP Rocky, skateboarder Dylan Rieder, and models Cara Delevigne, Jourdan Dunn and Eliza Cummings. Talk about an all star line-up.

ON STAGE | Cabaret

I love supporting Toronto's awesome arts scene and I try to make it out to as much as I can. When I heard that Cabaret was coming to the Lower Ossington Theatre, I got pretty excited. Not only did I have the pleasure of attending its fabulous opening night, but I got a behind-the-scenes look a week before it debuted and got to chat with the show's director Jeremy Hutton.

Jeremy Hutton
What drew you to take on Cabaret?

I suggested it to them here at the LOT because it’s just one of the greatest musicals of all time. They asked me what would be a great musical that would also probably sell tickets and this was my suggestion. It appeals to a younger audience, it appeals to an older audience, and it appeals to a culturally diverse audience, so I think that’s among the reasons that we wanted to approach it. And it’s got some of the greatest song and dance numbers that everybody knows, on top of actually mean something. It’s rare in musicals, especially of that time; this was first performed in 1968 or 1969. And leading up to that time, it was rare for a musical to really have any depth to it, depth to character and depth to what they were trying to say. I think that’s what makes this musical so special, it’s really fun and sexy and even today, it’s different from your standard piece of musical theatre. It also says something that is relevant to when it was written, before it was written and it’s even relevant still today in terms of what we’re willing to accept, who we’re willing to accept and how much apathy can affect what goes on.
The show features an incredibly talented cast including:
KYLIE MCMAHON (Sally Bowles)
ADAM NORRAD (Emcee) [side note, I actually interviewed Adam before when he was Trekkie Monster in LOT's production of Avenue Q!]
DAVID LIGHT (Cliff Bradshaw)

MY LIFE | ET Canada

I'm two weeks into a brand new internship with ET Canada and I've been able to meet a lot of cool people and get some behind-the-scenes insight into how the show is produced. I'm working specifically with the web team, so I've been able to help out with online photo galleries and blog posts. Here are some of the articles I've gotten to write so far!

FASHION | Tory Burch Flagship Store Opening

Photo via Facebook

The stars seriously stepped up their style A-game at yesterday's Tory Burch Rodeo Drive flagship store opening in LA. I just love the whole aesthetic of the Tory Burch brand. Her stores are like a heavenly fantasy land (this was how I felt when I set foot in her Vancouver store just a few weeks ago). I cannot stop looking at the party pics....oh how I wish I was there. Seriously, look at Jessica Alba. Perfection.

Who's excited?!

I am seriously in love with this show. Lena Dunham, you are a genius.

The cast and their fab fashion A-lister friends stepped out last night for the GIRLS Season 3 red carpet premiere in New York City. It looked like quite the party!

MY LIFE | A Look Back At 2013

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fun NYE and are having a relaxing day of recovery :)

It's hard to believe that it's already 2014. This past year has flown by and I'm amazed at how much has happened in such a short time. I got to travel, meet cool people and have some of the best experiences of my life so far. From being in the audience of the People's Choice Awards in LA to running into Michael Cera on the street in NYC, it's been an unbelievable year. The amount of times I've used the phrase "Is this real life?" hit an all-time high. I thought I'd take a little trip down memory lane. Warning, there are TONS of photos.

Made my first visit to LA for the People's Choice Awards
